Actually, the HVSC doesn't contain any Sidplayer music at all, and most
modern media players cannot play Sidplayer files. The only modern player
I'm aware of that plays Sidplayer music is sidplayfp, but even it has
problems with about half the tunes I try. (Recall that my video archive is
for music produced with the COMPUTE! music system, not C64 SID music in
general. The COMPUTE! system uses a different file format.)
There is an excellent online collection of Sidplayer music in its original
format, the COMPUTE!'s Gazette Sid Collection (CGSC), which can be found at
. Some of the tunes in my YouTube channel come
from the CGSC, but so far most of it comes from my own personal collection.
(Though I'm working on cross-referencing the two collections and submitting
the missing tunes to the CGSC.)
Of course, if you want a more authentic experience, you can fetch tunes
from the CGSC and play them on a real Commodore 64 or 128, or on an
emulator. The YouTube channel is really for the convenience of those who
lack the time or inclination to get an emulator or real C64 up and running.

Tristan
