subject: Modem Speed Setting

JK>works, for what it's worth.

You should be able to use a 14400 modem with your 8088 computer. Try
setting the COM port to 19200 bps.

Later, when you get a superspeed 5th generation machine, you can invest in
a faster modem.

The *present* is an ancient 2400. The *faster* one contemplated is a 14.4.
ow
you know my priorities. :-) Thanks.
