Shortwave radio has been proven as a useful tool for the education of
millions throughout the world since its beginnings. That, measured in terms
of time, is not really too long ago. The social studies abstract I posted is
just one of the thousands of examples that can be used. I remember seeing
stories here about the people living in remote areas of Africa and in Latin
America who had nothing but a small shortwave receiver tohear the events of
the world on. In many cases, there was just one shortwave set for a whole
village of people. This all seems amazing in this modern era where
satellite broadcasting has taken over much of what was (and still is) on
shortwave radio. Happy Monitoring...Brian.
