FYI, found this in the INJOY-L list and it seems to have a bearing on the
current discussion of AT&T worldnet problems. Seems that the IBM DOIP breaks
with these new modems/configs that AT&T installed. Apperently InJoy is still
functioning though the new traffic can upset the idle detction system
tremendously.

To Mike and all other worldnet users on this list:
YOU folks are the lucky ones.....seems that everyone running DOIP found out
that
one of these
RX: LCP Packet - ID = 9
would BREAK the connection....so, all happy warpers became UNhappy....
AND, all worldnet users should inform their ISP about how BAD that
is......think
about what happens if they figure out how to break InJoy too.....
here is what I got back from the Worldnet-postmaster when I forwarded a
comp.os.os2.comm post from an *@ibm.net poster, that hours previously had
been a
*@worldnet address......

This is the answer I have received from one of our WorldNet specialists:
"It seems the EV units have been updated over the last 2 weeks with a new
release of the software. This release contains changes that cause a bug in
the OS/2 dialer to manifest itself. Our network operations team is aware of
the problem and is working to correct it."

TO Bjarne....you may need to add a switch to make TIMEOUT counters ignore the
'LCP
Packet'......
