JY> For vehicles under 14000 lbs, a tag is twenty dollars. Do you have a sales tax? If so does it apply to vehicles? If so how about when a used vehicle is purchased? We have a sales tax on vehicles when new and every time it is sold. You can't get title and plate till the sales tax is paid. If purchased from dealer he takes care of all the details and figures in the tax as part of the sale price. If you purchased from an individual you pay the sales tax when you get the tag. Tage does not stay with vehicle. Sales between close relatives are exempt on used vehicles. Tags for an 89 Ply Horizon $29, 98 Ply Voyager $88, 76 F250 2WD $37, 82 F250 4WD $43, semi trailers $39, 3 axle tag along like a lot of back hoes are hauled on $39, smaller utility trailers are less. Semi tractors for farm use $100 to $150, for commercial use $1000 and up. No other tax on vehicles. Does the as valorem tax apply to personal property such as furniture, boats, ATV's, farm machinery, tools of a trades man, etc. ... Ben ...
