KN> An Easter Prayer
> by Helen Steiner Rice
I like Helen Steiner Rice's poetry.
I thought of writing a poem about spring today, but something has put me
in the wierdest of moods, and I seem to want to engage in Poe type
stuff. I think this is the wrong audience to appreciate young lovers
dying beside the daffodils while ravens sing "Nevermore!", a volcano
spews through the freshly planted cornfield, and the terrified poet sees
a vision of the grandfathers, bows in hand, reclaiming the land. (g)
But, hey, it would be on topic, you know, with the grandfathers and all
that. (g)
