I don't have Office so I don't know how to get it working in office. I only
got it working for the plain Vista start menu (Vista Home Premium here). So
even if you do this you might not even get a wave icon anyway in Office.
1. In notepad (DO NOT USE A WORD PROCESSOR LIKE WORD! It *has* to be a text
editor!) type in the following lines:
{at}echo off
bwave.exe
When you have those two lines in the notepad, save it to your user
documents folder (C:\USERS\YourName\Documents) as "bwstart.bat". Close
Notepad.
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder you saved the bwstart.bat
file to. Be sure the filename is bwstart.bat and not bwstart.bat.txt.
Rename it if necessary. Now drag and drop it to your the folder you have
BlueWave in. Vista may ask you to confirm this a couple times. Answer with
Yes and/or OK as needed. (This is why you save it in your documents folder
because it won't save it might not save it in the bluewave folder without
admin permissions).
3. Navigate to your BlueWave folder and right click on your bwstart.bat file.
Choose "Create shortcut" and rename the shortcut "BlueWave".
4. Right Click on the shortcut and select "Properties".
5. Click on the "Shortcut" tab and then click the "Change
Icon" tab at the
bottom of the dialog box. Browse to the Blue Wave icon and then ok to open
it. Click OK. Then click OK again to exit the properties dialog box.
6. From here, you can drag/drop this shortcut to your start menu, or anywhere
else you need it. Though this may not keep the correct icon if you're adding
it to a toolbar or something. Try creating a shortcut to this shortcut from
within the application you're using (ie. make a shortcut, and then for the
application executable, use the shortcut to "BlueWave" that
you just made).
As mentioned, I don't know if this will work in Office or not. I know it only
works if you're adding it to the Start Menu or if you make a toolbar for the
desktop or QuickLaunch (which is *not* the same as the "Office toolbar").
Exprimentation might be the way to find the answer to your particular situation.
Tika
create a file called "bwavestart.bat" and save it to your
user documents folder. DON'T USE A WORD PROCESSOR LIKE WORD! It *has* to
be a text editor like notepad.
