Nor are you likely to see it in *any* comm program. Use 19.2, with
hardware handshaking if the UART supports it (as it will if it's an
internal modem).
Well the UART in the present machine is a 16450, but the new 5th gen. machine
that is in the works will have 16550 UARTS of course. At present I have an
ld
US Robotics Courier 2400 external. (A genuwine antique?? :-) ) I plan to
always to go external no matter what I have. For the fun of it I tried
setting 4800 in my present setup and it didn't work. I was just wondering
what number I would use if I could beg, borrow or steal (less likely buy) a
14.4. Now thanks to you and others I know. Since I have no home Internet
access, (no ISP), and my telecommunications are limited to local BBSs, I feel
no pressing need to be on the bleeding X2 or even cutting 38.8 edge. But a
14.4 would give me access to a BBS that won't let me on now- thus my interest
in the answer to the above. Thanks.
