Hi Jeff,
JD> Greetings from landlocked Arizona. My house just sold and I'm looking
JD> for a good liveaboard in the 36-45foot, $50-75k range. Living comfort
JD> and durability have priorities over performance. Have looked at the
JD> Morgan Classic, the CSY37 and Endeavour. Could use help in a few areas.
JD> 1. Any thoughts or experience to suggest a good boat at a good price to
JD> meet my needs. I've sailed a lot in the sub 25 foot size but not much
JD> experience with liveaboard.
JD> 2. Any appropriate boats out there for sale.
JD> My goal is to sail a while off CA and eventually head down to Belize.

I've been in the same market for the last little while. It seems
you're on the right track with the first two. Morgan Classic (not the IO)
and CSY are both excellent, however, I kinda question Endeavour. Another
excellent boat for sailing/liveaboard would be the Chris Craft Caribean 35.
Believe it or not, Chris Craft built incredibly good f/g sailboats for about
10 years which are holding up very well. A '73 lists at about $35K U.S.
and is well laid out for sail and liveaboard.
Maybe a good idea for you is to do what I did. Get hold of a good friend
who is very knowledgable with boats, get a boats for sail publication (I
used the Florida Boat Trader), go to a local bar, then go through all the
listings getting his opinion on good and bad boats.
For the price range you're looking at, I doubt you'll have much problem
finding something very suitable for yourself. Good Luck!
Cheers,
Augustin~~~===
