Hi Paul,
You said to Mike M.
PS> My father just had tumor removed (13cm).In the old days, like
>what Mike is proposing, you'd simply die. My girlfriend had a double
>kidney transplant. Respectfully, these people are alive today because
>of the American Education System.
NOt to split hairs or anything Paul but...... I think you should
substitute Modern (or similar) Education System here I don't think it is
the Americans who are entirely responsible for the medical breakthroughs
of the world. :) Now, I could be wrong in that these particular medical
procedures were pioneered by Americans but in most circumstances the
medical profession relies on research of others in their work to a
greater or lesser degree.
I was educated in England and Canada myself and know each of these
countries (and many others) have played their part. Banting and Best
(Canadian) were responsible for diabetics having insulin BTW. ;)
>I owe my way of life to the American
>Education System. And the fact that I can read and respond to this
>conference is due to the American education system.
Now, this I can't argue with.
PS> Mike, I'd like you to argue one point for me first, please humor
>me. I'd like you to make a point the the wheel should be re-invented.
>Ron, I'd like you to argue that instead of re-inventing the wheel we
>should simply improve tires. That should make an interesting
>discussion.
Am looking forward to reading this one! :)
Ruth
