To say something out of anger has a different meaning then saying something
for purposes to provoke.

When angry, some outbursts serve to release steam, the other side only
serves to create it for someone else.

Seems to be a distressful topic, lets simplify it..

Daniel Prather, should he decide to ever come back into this echo, name is
Daniel, not Dan, not Danny and not Little Danny.

Bob Klahn, prefers Bob, not Bobbie or anything else but Bob. Furthermore,
whether or not Bob Klahn has a physique that isnt within what society
considers nomal or desirable, is not an acceptable topic for this echo.

Ross Sauer's full legal name might be Otto Ross Sauer, but he prefer's to
use his middle name for which he stole from me!!! (HAHA) So call him Ross
or use his last name, he has never objected to either/or. "ORS"
wont cut it.

Tim Richardson, prefers to use Tim, not Timmy, Timothy or Widdle Timmie.

Stan Hardegree, prefers Stan, not Stanley, or Hardlygreased.

Jeff Binkley, prefers Jeff, not Jeffrey or "Binky".

Ed Hulett, has stated he doesnt care, but he chose Ed over any other variation.

These are just some variations I have seen used in this echo and in others
over time and this does not constitute an all inclusive list.

This will be known as the Otto ruling, it is reinstated, you all must
address the person by the name that is in the "From" field in
their messages as they appear in the open echo. Either by the first name
used, the last name used or the full name as it appears in the from field.

JohnJWilson could have used better care in logging on to his preferred BBS,
but I suspect that perhaps at that time another "John Wilson" was
already logged on, since his first name and surname arent all that
uncommon. For purposes of this ruling, John, John Wilson or Wilson apply
when referring to him.

[Moderator Messages, Rulings and warnings]

I am losing patience whenever I have to don the moderator hat to make a
ruling or a warning to have someone argue with me ad naseum and I have been
guilty of arguing back instead of putting my foot down. If you dont like
the way this echo is run or its rules, then simply leave, if you feel you
must protest a ruling or warning then netmail me at 1:123/456 or 1:123/500
or in email at
recassell[at]charter[dot]net.

The moderators will be the sole deciders on what constitutes a rule
violation and to whether or not to act on it, do not whine to the
moderators. If you feel victimized or are on the receiving end of what you
feel might be a rule violation, keep your mouth shut towards the offender
and do not escalate the issue.

This is known as the Moderator(s) Are GOD ruling.

[I dont initiate, I retaliate]

Oneupmanship is to be expected, but just like in the NFL when a player is
flagged for a personal foul with the 15 yard penalty, in some cases a NFL
fine and in some cases ejection from the game, it is more often than not
the person who retaliated to a hit, and not the player who initiated it.
Sometimes the initiator gets flagged or both get flagged but most of the
time the retaliator gets nailed. Therefore if you want to live by the credo
of "I dont initiate or retaliate" or "He hit me first"
or "So and so started it" and your reaction earns you a warning,
just be aware of this. In many cases retaliations often exceed the level
the initiation represented.

This is known as the "I dont care who started it" ruling.
