Hello, Maurice.

If someone's got the source code, then why don't they write it
"native" under Linux? There's got to be someone out there that
wants to do it. Myself, I'm still using Maximus/2 v3.01 and will probably
never need to use an updated version, but if someone wants to use it under
Linux as a true native application, I'm gathering someone can rewrite it.
Unfortunately, Linux BBSes are still somewhat of a minority from what I've
seen in my own personal travels (although OS/2 BBSes are an even smaller
minority :). Everything seems to be tilted towards Win32. I've had
several discussions with door authors that will not develop for anything
but Win32 now. Myself, as a door author, still write stuff in DOS. I
haven't yet found a decent doorkit for OS/2 that is updated and compiles.
However-speaking of Linux native stuff-I would be more than happy to
attempt to write Linux-native doors (I can do so in Pascal) if someone
would help me learn a bit about how to design them. I have Virtual Pascal
and Free Pascal, both which will compile in Linux. I may not be able to
make Maximus into a true Linux-native program, but at least I can write
some doors that don't require DOSemu. ;)
Later,
Sean
