BC> What would be the difference between transferring the tag or letting BC> it expire then in a few years putting it back on the road. I BC> have transferred tags then later put new tags on and put it back on BC> the road with only paying the cost of the new tag. If we transfer to BC> a vehicle with the same or lower tag cost it is a small paper BC> shuffling fee but if to a vehicle that has a higher tag fee the we BC> must pay a prorated difference. BC> What is the "ad valorem taxes"? Each year, they go to the Blue Book and ascertain the value of the vehicle, then tax the vehicle at 40% of the value at the current city/county millage rate, then sell the tag to the owner. If I don't register the car for a year, they don't get the tax. If I fix the car and, three years downb the road register it, th4ey have to go back and charge me the tax for those years. For vehicles under 14000 lbs, a tag is twenty dollars. --- McGuffey's Reader GoldED+/W32* Origin: (1:3613/1275) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 3613/1275 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
