Hi Will, Long time no hear! How is the weather treating you? With the
exception of a couple cold days (30 degrees F heheheh!) last week it
has been beautiful here. We are still mowing our yards! Beats the heck
out of shovel and uumph!
Tara Labs has a large line (no pun intended) of cables for both
patch and speakers. I have been using balanced Monster Interlink 200s
between pieces (big name, about $15 per 1 meter pair, and as far as I can
tell...good performance. I was using the old standard issue Monster Speaker
Cable and have tried different cables in A/B tests against them over the
years. I cannot honestly tell you if I am just becoming a better listener,
getting old, or if these indeed make a valuable difference or give me
consistant hallucinations of better sound. Really, it doesn't matter as
I really like the way they sound.
I would suggest getting the Audio Advisor Catalog first. They do a
pretty good job of showing what each cable is, windings, sizes, diameters
and an idea of the theory behind each. From there you can order from them
or try Kiefs.
Audio Advisor is 1-800-942-0220. I do not have Kiefs right here
with me now, but you will find it in the rear of Audio and other mags.
The particular cables I selected are about mid way up their
chart. Right now they have some pretty good deals going on some and "bulk"
purchases (unterminated) are a heck of a lot cheaper than presentation
box terminated cables. I bought the Prime 1000 cables as the RSC technology
is something I have been reading about and got over 25 immediate replys
on the Internet when asking about it.
Seems like some of the Echos are dwindling and disappearing. We have
lost several formerly MAIN multi-line BBSs here in the valley over the past
few months. I hate to see it. Many of the old time FIDO hubs and area
honcho's are cashing in too.
Take care and have a wonderful Christmas. If you cannot locate Kiefs
1-800 number, give me a nudge and I'll find it for you.
Cheers, John
