subject: BW Shortcut in Vista

> ...Getting free SWAG! *Good* SWAG too!!!

Tell me about it! :) I have good computers and just recently got done
reinstalling the OSs and re-setting up things on all 3. Three computers and a
chair with wheels describes me best. LOL! Two are laptops though so luckily I
can just relax in a good chair somewhere and work.

Nope. You got to right-click on the taskbar and click Properties to set the
taskbar/notification properties. To edit the start menu you right click and
"Explore All Users" or "Open All Users". To get to your
OWN user shortcuts
that don't show up for all you right-click and choose just
"Explore". Took me awhile to figure it all out. Vista also does not have
Outlook Express. They renamed it "Windows Mail" and it really doesn't do
anything different that Outlook Express does. They do now have a Windows
Calendar though. But not integrated with Windows Mail, oddly. At least not
that I can see. Lots of differences.

I never thought of having it in my PATH statement. Ah well, making a batch
file with shortcut to it did work. To me, it was the easiest solution. (Hey,
Vista does not have a My Computer icon! LOL! So getting to the Environment
Variables is rather tough. I even keep forgetting where they are located in
the GUI maze! LOL!

Problem is, it gave the error anyway, even if all parameters were correct. :/
It was odd. I didn't try the command.com /p though. Never knew of that. But I
don't think there's a command.com in Vista. There's a DOS-like interpertor I
think from what I can see, they have pretty much limited DOS stuff so
it's hard to get to. I guess they want people to forget about DOS. :(

I'll see if I can. I try to get a packet every day now. But I've been off
BBSs for so long thanks to being so busy. So I'm hoping others might be able
to join in and help too, in case I don't get time to get onto the BBS for a
bit.

Great to see there's still some of my old favorite Echoes though. :) You
probably know Nancy Backus, a very close, dear friend of mine whom I'm in
constant contact with (we live in the same a . I guess she helped me
re-kindle some of my interest, as well as Mike Roberts who runs the Holodeck
BBS. It's nice to have some familiarity in all the "New-fangled" internet
(which is becoming "old-fangled" by now, for me. LOL!)
