But I think that falls within Garry's concept of humans being pack animals.
The pack always imposes its will on the members, otherwise it couldn't
function as the pack. If we expand the definition of "the Pack"
to include a state, a country, or the species, then the pack would indeed
impose its will on all those members.

For me the question isn't "is the will of the larger society imposed
on it's members?", the larger society has to impose its will otherwise
you have the law of the jungle at work, but "to what degree is that
will imposed?"

I agree with Garry. I think most anarchists are in denial. I see them as
simply wanting to destroy the institutions and organizations at hand
without any sense or care as to what the consequences might be.

I'd be willing to accept that if every so often some group of nuts didn't
organize themselves into the Klan, Neo-Nazis, street gangs, Yahweh Ben
Yahweh, etc. Our inbuilt methods of organizing are amoral at best. The
permanent organizations (or perhaps the "meta-organizations") can
keep the smaller ones from getting too dangerous to the life and well being
of the members of the society as a whole.
