| subject: | golded+utf/64 ? |
Hello Stas, 13 Nov 13 20:09, you wrote to Kai Richter: KR>> Any chance that the world would see a utf capable 64-bit version KR>> of golded+ ? SD> Some chance exists. If somebody will rewrite code for input-output in SD> Golded+ (to implement support of multibyte characters), these chances SD> wiil grown :) At the moment I'm using the latest golded sources with the latest hpt and binkd sources as well. I'm running Archlinux and use golded in the console. Outgoing UTF-8 seems to work just fine. The only current issue is that there's no translation from UTF-8 to all the other used charsets. I have cp1125, cp437, cp850, cp865, cp866, and koi8-r all translating to utf-8 at the moment, thanks to what's currently in the charset directory, but nothing has been translated back from utf-8. Is there any reference out there on how to make these .chs files using the site they're usually gotten from? Some kind of table maybe that shows how to translate say: 0x0001 to \d1 and/or what they actually mean? I'm not a programmer, but if shown a nice method of doing this, I wouldn't mind attempting to translate utf-8 to the more heavily used charsets in Fidonet (ibmpc, 437, 850, 866, koi8-r, etc). Or does more need to be done 'code-wise' to accomplish this? Sorry, I replied to an already started thread here, but this could be moved to the GOLDED echo if you wish.
