subject: golded+utf/64 ?

Hello Stas,

At the moment I'm using the latest golded sources with the latest hpt and
binkd sources as well. I'm running Archlinux and use golded in the console.
Outgoing UTF-8 seems to work just fine. The only current issue is that
there's no translation from UTF-8 to all the other used charsets.

I have cp1125, cp437, cp850, cp865, cp866, and koi8-r all translating to
utf-8 at the moment, thanks to what's currently in the charset directory,
but nothing has been translated back from utf-8.

Is there any reference out there on how to make these .chs files using the
site they're usually gotten from? Some kind of table maybe that shows how
to translate say: 0x0001 to \d1 and/or what they actually mean?

I'm not a programmer, but if shown a nice method of doing this, I wouldn't
mind attempting to translate utf-8 to the more heavily used charsets in
Fidonet (ibmpc, 437, 850, 866, koi8-r, etc).

Or does more need to be done 'code-wise' to accomplish this?

Sorry, I replied to an already started thread here, but this could be moved
to the GOLDED echo if you wish.

Regards,
Nick
