Here, people have bumperstickers about how jet noise is your freedom at work.
  The locals saw the damage done by BRACK bases shut down and it caused a
major change.  Military brings mass amounts of *MONEY* to the area.  Raises
your house value as well more often than not.  Causes a housing boom in areas
with not as much housing and provides regular buyers even in a bad housing
market time.  Easy to rent out a house or apartment too.

THen it's more than just basic weapons training.  Most communities out in the
middle of no place would die for the income it will provide.

9/11 as said.  Homeland defense stuff I havent caught up on much, but the mili
tary has it's own version and it's big.
