From: "David Austin" Subject: Re: [drakelist] Blue filter gel (C-line) Thanks to all who have written with suggestions. Mark, I had already looked at http://www.wb4hfn.com/DrakeArticles/TechTips/DrakeResources.htm . It looks (from the picture) as if the gel supplied by WA9TGT is significantly darker than the original shown in the photo, assuming that the "original" shown has not itself faded with time. It was for this reason that I passed that source over. Lee, sad to hear that Roscolene 853 is not in fact an exact match as was suggested on this list a few months ago. I must admit that I wasn't sure, if this was the original material used by Drake as suggested in the original post, why I would need to double up the thickness to make the density correct! Gary.... Lee filter 172 does look very interesting. When you say exact match, do you mean in every respect, even though the gel is thinner i.e. although the colour may be correct, do I need to double up the thickness to get the correct density (light level), or is it correct as is? To Phil, AI4DQ, thanks also for possible source 882670054 (blue) and 882670050 (white) which are quilter's template material from www.wrights.com , though I'm not sure how to locate a stockist in the UK? Didn't have much luck finding a US stockist on the web either (other than wholesalers, who want to sell packs of 25 !). Anyway, I'm sure from these that I will find a solution! Thanks again for suggestions, 73 David G4GTP ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions: drakelist{at}www.zerobeat.net Subscribe: majordomo{at}www.zerobeat.net - subscribe drakelist in body Unsubscribe: majordomo{at}www.zerobeat.net - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost: majordomo{at}www.zerobeat.net - help in body of message Brought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net http://www.tlchost.net/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---* Origin: The Barter Board Internet Gatway (1:261/1551) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 261/1551 1352 38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
