SB> Well, OK, I concede. It's not official. I was using the word,
SB> "official", very loosely; which, seeing that I'm a writer, is totally
SB> inexcusable. I meant that I believe government officials in high
SB> places support it.
Now, THAT, I will agree with. And just as important there are a LOT of
eople
(many with more money than sense) that support such a policy.
JC> Sounds like the illustrious Republican Senator from the state of
Washington
> Slade Gorton and his cronies.
I haven't read much about Slade since his attempts a couple years ago to
get "means testing" and "casino taxation" through his committee. Oh, he was
one of the Congresspersons that tried to put pressure on the Corps of
Engineers to release the remains of Kennewick Man, but as far as I know, he
and his buddies were ignored by the Corps.
SB> He's definitely not targeting everyone: just native americans and
SB> recent immigrants. I'm sure he supports a tax free status for
SB> religions.
Fits the pattern...
Jim
