DT> MS> Of course there are American citizens with no entitlement to a
DT> MS>given service. School attendance is limited to those legally
DT> MS>residing in a school attendance zone. A kid can have been born
DT> in a
DT> MS>school district and he has no "right" to attend the schools there
DT> if
DT> MS>his parents move abroad...
DT>
DT> Let me see if I get this right...A kid is born in America and grows
DT> up
DT> in a certain American school district. Since he lives in that
DT> district
DT> he is entitled to attend that district's schools. However, his
DT> parents
DT> move to Siberia. So now, naturally, he would have to go to school in
DT> Siberia.
Just like if an illegal alien is deported to Guatemala. He then has no
entitlement to American schooling, whether under current federal law or any
proposed immigration reform.
Immigration reform bills have advocated facing the fact that the
responsibility for educating illegal aliens belongs on the country they came
here from, whether they have yet to be deported or not. If I want to have
certain "rights" allowed every American citizen, I have to prove my
citizenship. Anyone wanting to get a job requiring a security clearance will
be denied one if he can't prove he's a citizen. Why should getting such
public benefits as public schools funded by taxpayers be any different?
