jamnntpd here is buildt with smapi-api so yes it does

hpt is useing smapi-api by default, msged is using smapi-api, where is the problem ?

   ----- jamnntpd.ldd begins -----
        linux-gate.so.1 (0x6f7bb000)
        libsmapi.so.2.4 => /home/xpoint/fido/lib/libsmapi.so.2.4 (0x6f797000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x6f77d000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x6f5f4000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x6f7bc000)
   ----- jamnntpd.ldd ends -----

   ----- hpt.ldd begins -----
        linux-gate.so.1 (0x6f744000)
        libfidoconfig.so.1.4 =>
/home/xpoint/fido/lib/libfidoconfig.so.1.4 (0x6f710000)
        libsmapi.so.2.4 => /home/xpoint/fido/lib/libsmapi.so.2.4 (0x6f6f7000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x6f56e000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x6f745000)
   ----- hpt.ldd ends -----

but if jamnntpd is not buildt with smapi, then you are right :)

 Regards Benny
