EA>Dear all,
EA>I want to get into C++ programming. I wanted to know, first, what books
EA>are
EA>good and what books are not so good. I am getting Borland C++, and I
EA>have
EA>Turbo. What do you think is better? I'm making a VR type world...
EA>...like
EA>Doom without guns. Has anyone ever done anything like this?
Yes, but i'm adding objects in it at the moment. :)
I assume it's a game, it wouldn't be very interesting just walking around a
giant cube.
You should use something like DJGPP (what i'm using) or watcom (what i'm also
using.. keeping the code safe) to compile FAST optimized execs.
You couldn't do fast texture mapping or shading routines in something like
borland c++ anyway.
