I have no problems with the concept. Really, it's a lot of Lawrence Miles'
Doctor Who concepts, especially Faction Paradox and the War. (See
http://www.factionparadox.co.uk or http://www.madnorwegian.com/)

My major complaint is the terminology. The name "Temporal Cold
War" suggests tactical tampering or technological giveaways instead of
temporal hostilities.

My minor complaint is simply that we have a -really- bad perspective on
events in Archer. The 22nd-century is but one front in a much larger
conflict. The Xindi attack on Earth gave us a glimpse of another front,
but we'll never know the full scale of events.

Perhaps the Temporal Cold War combatants have been able to
"unfix" themselves in time.

I deal with the issue--by ducking it.

Simply put, there must be more to temporal theory than we -now- understand,
and Starfleet captains of the 23rd and 24th-centuries will have a better
comprehension of the problem. While it seems to us that a universe with a
single timeline cannot also have multiple branching timelines and quantum
subrealties, the evidence we've seen shows that -both- exist. If light can
be both wave -and- particle, perhaps time can be both singular -and-
multiple.

One of the wackiest ideas I've had is about a temporal commando mission
into the "Yesterday's Enterprise" alternate timeline.

There comes a time when the fall of snow is no longer the start of a
marvelous adventure. There comes a time when it means scraping your
windscreen and hoping your car starts. It means aching joints and
throbbing sinuses and cold hands and feet. It means taking longer to
get to work and spending all day sitting in an office where the heating
isn't on. Grey slush and cracked pipes, cancelled trains and influenza,
that's what snow means. You'll wake up feeling like that, one day, and
it will mean you are grown up. I hope that day doesn't come soon.
