Yes, but you're talking about MILITARY bases, not a civilian training camp. San Diego has a couple of those military things. :) > This was going to be a BIG thing with night manuvers with choppers, a big > rifle range, advanced driving track and all kinds of stuff like that going > on 24/7. Oh yeah, Blackwater is a 'security' company, or so they say. :) But you have to remember the folks that live in the back county moved there to get away from the city for the most part. They have larger lots, a lot have horses etc and this thing would sure disrupt the peace and quiet. :) > > Wonder when the training became manditory, or at least enforced? Homeland defense stuff I havent caught up on much, but CS> the mili tary has it's own version and it's big. Ahh, makes sense then. I did find it odd that those guys got right up next to the COLE, and that sure seemed a lot different than when my one trip into Japan on the old USS Colonial had a deck watch as we steamed into Yokosuka and they wouldn't let any boat come near the ship at all. Several tried, all were ordered away. By and large I think these boats only wanted to sell trinkets etc. I suppose the deck watch is a bit more alert now? --- MultiMail/Win32 v0.46* Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 34/999 90/1 120/228 123/500 138/666 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 SEEN-BY: 2320/105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
