I do that, but I keep the list (which is available at my site), as a
reference so I can cite title, author, ISBN, and Dewey number when
I'm arguing with people. :-)

Not so time consuming, really.  I bring home five books from the
library every three weeks or so and it takes a couple of minutes to
enter the data.  Mind you, I don't synopsize the books, just list them.
