SP> Hello from Seward, Alaska! I am in the process of building a futaba

Hello, Steve,
Last summer, I helped a student learn to fly with his Professor.
- Sounds like what Newt Gingrich's teacher did!
It's a very nice plane, but a little fast for the beginner. I
strongly recommend using a buddy box if you're learning to fly
with it.
The student I was working with had learned to take off and land. We
were working on the landing pattern (sans buddy box), when he when
he rolled the plane a little too far and pulled up the elevator.
Very quickly, the plane was deposited in a tree. With a slower plane,
I _might_ have been able to snatch the transmitter, and save it. Or,
the student would have been less likely to over-roll a plane with a
flatter airfoil.
I don't want to overly alarm you about the Professor. I just recommend
a buddy box if you're going to learn to fly with this model. My student
liked his enough to immediately buy another, to replace the damaged
parts on his old one.
Bye now,
Bruce
