TM>Perhaps you would start with the Indians that were native to the

  >visit/interview with one or more. . . where do you live, anyway? I
  >think I missed your intro. How many/old are your child/ren? I have

  >native to our area. There are often even Indian repro villages to
  >visit if you're lucky. . . Learn Indian hand signals. Food prep

  >many possibilities! If she's still interested in Indians after you

  >history in either with biographies or studies of the treatment the

We have only one child. Caitlyn is 7. We live in western WA. We have
a local tribe. I hadn't thought so specifically to isolate "our" tribe.
I already have a call in to the tribal administration. Thanks!! I
guess I was thinking too broad of a category. That's where this echo
comes in so helpful! (Although I think it has become rather chatty of
late.)
Tell me more about the Weaver program. There used to be references here
about it, but I don't know a thing about it. How does it contrast with
Konos and why are you wanting Konos? I agree with you about canned
curriculum. I never bought an entire curriculum. I consider WAY too
expensive. I believe if you provide your child with an enriching
environment with lots of love and lots of books, lots of things to do
and places to go, you can develop your own studies to suit you child.
That said, how is spelling going for your youngun's?? We spend about 10
minutes 2 or 3 times a week on it but she balks every time. Of course
I don't have a weekly spelling list but I'm beginning to think I need to
create something that corresponds with the phonics program we use.
Take care and, again, thanks for the valuable input into our Indian
study.
