Ole Custom Controls (OCXs) can be used with Access 7.
To answer your other question about Calendars, Access 7 comes with a calendar 
OCX control that you can use right out of the box.
I've looked at it and played with it a bit, but haven't used it in an 
application to date. It looks robust and quite configurable. I would bet that 
it would serve your purpose.
