In the fall of 1993 ScanWare Associates released version 1.1 of the
FCC Frequency Retrieval System (FCC FRS).  In the following months
improvements and enhancements were made until the latest version, 2.15
was released in the summer of 1994.  The program has proven to be so
stable and user-friendly since that time that no further changes were
deemed necessary.  The FCC FRS as a DOS-based program has enjoyed
exceptional popularity and has proven itself a valuable tool to over
1000 customers who have used and continue to use the program.  Only
twice in the entire history of the FCC FRS has ScanWare been asked to
refund a purchase.  It is believed that no other frequency retrieval
program either DOS or Windows based can make that statement.  Judging
from user comments that we have received, no other retrieval system
has ever produced the level of user satisfaction that ScanWare's FCC
FRS has provided.
It is with much personal sadness that ScanWare Associates announces
that on September 1st, 1996 we will no longer be accepting orders for
the FCC FRS or any related products which we have offered in the past.
Our most recent purchase of data includes the 1st QTR 1996 FCC Data.
No further updates of data will be forthcoming from ScanWare. We will
continue to honor any outstanding free database certificates however
data provided will be limited to the current database on hand.  Any
certificates sent in for redemption must be accompanied by a check or
money order in the amount of $5.00 to cover media, preparation, and
shipping.  Credit card payment will not be acceptable.  Technical
support of all ScanWare products will be limited only to any answers
or solutions which can be provided via email.  Replacement files may
be provided via email at ScanWare's discretion but we make no claims
or guarantees as to their continued availability.
The ScanWare Associates BBS will cease all operations at midnight on
August 31st, 1996.  The ScanWare Associates Web Page at URL:

will continue operation until such time as we consider their
usefulness at an end.
ScanWare Associates wishes to thank all of our customers and friends
who have supported our efforts.  We hope that you will continue to use
the FCC FRS as you have in the past and that you will continue to
remain our friends.  Although we will no longer be retailing the FCC
Frequency Retrieval System and its related products, ScanWare
Associates as an entity will continue to exist and we will continue to
pursue activites in those areas of most interest to us.  Perhaps in
the future we will meet again.
