Hello, My daughter had a liver transplant in 1993 at 10 months old, at that
time she had a blood transfusion.  In November 1995 I received a letter
informing us that the blood donor died of Creutzfeldt Jacob's Disease.
Though they told us that she was at a low risk of developing the disease
since there has never been a case in history linking CJD to transfusions,
I still have some concerns. CJD to my understanding has been around since
1920's but the literature on the subject is very limited. I would like to
find out all the information I can on this subject. Also, because of my
daughter's transplant she is on drugs that suppress her immune system, I
wonder if any studies involving CJD and immune suppressing drugs have ever
been done.
