That's one of the reasons. And progressive taxes, which tax higher
incomes at higher rates, insure that men pay even more.

However, there are other reasons as well. Men still feel the
expectation of being the primary provider; 80% of husbands earn more
than than their wives, usually working harder because they feel that
very expectation. (Their wives, if they take any job at all, often
take some kind of joke job (look at me! I get $25 a week writing a
column for the local paper) and then bitch about the "wage gap," which
is a result of women's choices.) And so they pay most of the mortgage
and the property tax on their house. And the sales tax when he buys
the car. And so on on other big ticket items.

Social security is another huge one; if the SS age is 66, and men die
at 72, women at 79, women get SS more than twice as long as women do.
And who put most of the money into SS? Men. And who gets by far the
most from it? Women.

This leaves out entirely all the taxes that men pay for women's
programs, women's health, women's shelters, women's endless etc that
they get no benefit from.

Look at my statement in answer to her assertion "We all pay taxes"; I
said, "Men far more than women." It says nothing about what's
"fair."
It's a statement of fact, of observation. If you're going to try to
pick a fight, why not at least read carefully?
