WL> I trust you've read several places in the last few days or
WL> heard it several times on television that Consumer Reports found:
WL>
WL> 1. Oil changes every 7,500 miles are every bit as satisfactory
WL> as every 3,000 miles.
WL>
WL> 2. Synthetic oils are virtually no better than regular oils.
WL>
WL> 3. No additive was of any benefit.
WL>
WL> The reports of their study said it was made in taxicabs which
WL> are the epitome of "severe service."
yeah, i read that too.. (the taxi's were in NEW YORK.. that's SEVERE severe
service:) )
i still feel safer changing the oil every 3K miles, because hell.. i only
drive 5000 a year! the poor car goes 10miles to school and back, and a
weekend cruise every once in a while, and that's it... people say that you're
supposed to also change the oil every 90 days(?!?) that seems like a big
frikking waste of oil to me..... unless you drive 5000miles in 90 days ...
