My 19 inch is about 15x12. I run it at 1280x1024, which is the max.
With that setting a 24 point DOS window is about 13x8, which is just
over half the screen. I see from your other message that your
screen is 16x10 -- also 19 inch diagonal, but wider and shorter than
mine.
There are a few other settings you could look to that have effect on
the size of things. As I said, I don't know Vista -- but in XP
there is a properties sheet for the display (right click on any empty
portion of the screen and select properties at the bottom of that
menu that pops up). Under the tab for "Appearance" there is a font
size that could be twiddled with - I like "extra large". And then
under the tab "settings" there is an "advanced"
button. That brings
up some sort of pop-up from the display adapter. The thing to
twiddle with there is the DPI setting. I have mine on normal (96
dpi) but your mileage may vary.
