closed doors are a major infraction of "pep's laws" (the male cat).
He'll hurl himself at the door until it's open.  (no compromise--period!)

The only time he stopped was when we had friends over with their dog (before
we got our two) he got two shots at the door before the dog went bonkers,
and then decided he'd just curl up with us and leave that door closed.  :-)
