On my HPFS drive, there is not much wasted space at all. I was about to
switch to another format when I went with HPFS, then the two reason I had for
not liking *.msg dissappeared, and space was one of them.

HPFS drive format is a great solution because of little wasted space, and
because the speed problem is greatly eliminated with areas with over 300
messages in them. HPFS allowed me to keep the *.msg format I liked, with
little advantage left for the database format. Oh, another advantage is I
haven't had to defrag my drive in over 5 years.
People often jab me about running old, outdated *.msg base, and I generally
laugh at them, tell them they are running old, outdated File System, that
can't handle superior *.msg format:-)
I only have a few beefs about OPUS, and Trev is addressing all of them and
then some. I'm a little worried about the new Zmodem his putting in, mainly
because I always thought the one in OPUS worked pretty darn good. If he
makes it better I'll really be impressed.
