Yes, he has sustained the results. He noticed that the effect
lasted for six days, and then he started to have alergic
reactions again--this was his state before the aloe. I tried it
myself and noticed an elevated ability to puzzle things out like
tricky algorithms that I was avoiding. I had brilliant dreams
   for the first two days.

   > Have similar results been reported from other patients
who have tried this treatment, if any?

It's always difficult to bring a new protocol to someone who is
life challenged by his ailment and is taking something like AZT
or chemotherapy that seems to cause damage in the first place.
The patient hates the existing drugs, but is terrified that the
doctor will be angered at any changes. Most never attempt it.

   > Also, has he reported any problems with the purging that
aloe can cause when taken internally?

Well, I had a Hell of a time with it. I think it backwashed me
right up to my tonsils. Frazier takes his whole leaf once per
week in three or four doses after heavy meals. I didn't know
this and belted almost a quart of the stuff down over two hours.
I was communing with Nature the rest of the evening. I have
stopped taking it after the first leaf, but I plan to make more
tomorrow morning and follow his method.

Since I tried it, I have been inundated in data from all sorts of
sources about aloe products with the bad stuff removed and the
good stuff preserved. It is expensive and unknown in content as
far as I can tell. I'd rather stick to the whole leaf for now.

I'm going to retry it again, but I'm going to spread it out over
the entire week, sort of like a glass a day. That will ramp it
back up slowly and will sustain it at a more constant level. I'm
not sick, nor am I HIV+, so I don't need to carpet bomb my gut.

LT> know if that takes out some of the properties or not.
It doesn't seem to harm it too much. At least I've not noticed
   if it did.

p.s. I've used the dried powdered form on the cats when
they got scrapes. It seems to help them alot.

Could you explain how you go about drying and powdering aloe? If
i ever figure out how to keep the darn things alive, I'd like to
try this! :) I either have to find the right window to stick
them in or leave them at my cousin's house and just visit them!
She can't kill them no matter what she does, and my "black thumb"
is very much in evidence. It's the main plant that I'm having
problems with and I very much would like to grow them!

   Hi Jessica
Thanks for your reply about Aloe.

Sorry, I missed some of your other posts, unfortunately quite a
few of mine go astray and quite a bit get lost on the way down
   here.

It used to frustrate me in the beginning, but I've learnt to
   adapt to it really quickly.

JE> myself am taking Doctor's Choice for Women MultiVitamins.
These are all Herbal and have been helping me a bit. Now to get
   on a regular diet .

Yes, we could all learn a lesson from this one. I'm always
resolving to improve mine and then I put everthing else ahead of
   my diet.

Remember that aloe is a succulent. A form of cactus. Don't
water it but once a week, if that, and put it where it can get at
least six hours of light a day. An eastern or western window.
Always check the pot before you water an aloe. Stick your finger
to the second knuckle into the soil. If the soil is wet don't
water. If it's even damp don't water. Let the aloe dry out
completely before you water it again. Also check your soil.
Potting soil is too rich for aloe. Buy a good cactus mix. It's
more expensive than potting soil, but it's the best there is for
succulents and cactus. It's mostly sand. If you have access to
sand you can make your own though. Use a third portion of sand,
a third of vermiculite, and a third of potting soil. You want
this stuff to drain really fast and well.

As for drying the aloe? Cut off a leaf of aloe, and slit it
lengthwise. Now, using a spoon or other flat object, scoop out
the pulp and juice. Lay this on a cookie sheet that has been
sprayed with a cooking spray first. Put into a 250 degree (F)
oven, and prop the door open a bit. Let this dry in there over
night, or until it is dry and crusty. Now take it off of the
pan, carefully, and put it into a food processor or blender.
Whirl till it is a very well crushed powder. Now put back on the
cookie sheet, and let dry a bit longer. Bottle in an air tight
bottle, and lable it with the name and date.

How big a leaf? THere is a great difference in size between a
potbound crowded planting on a windowsill, and the leaf from an
   inground free-growing cultivar outside. :-)

Or, failing that, how many total ounces do you think you ingest?
