Looks basically like what I bought from RS a few years ago (don't know if 
they still stock it or not), but theirs used very small solid rods so the 
band was much sharper.  I like your idea of using the copper tube better!  
Theirs was also an omni, as it was bent into an S shape (as viewed from top). 
 What is your opinion on doing that with this one ?  What would it do to the 
feedpoint imp ?
