Tom...
TW{at}> EXCEPT you said "Licence IN HAND". You can operate as
soon as it is in
TW{at}> the Online Data Base. In theory that could take 24 Hours but typically
TW{at}> takes a bit longer.
That quick turnaround I referred to earlier is more the exception that the
rule (the ham took the test on Saturday, passing Elements 2, 3, and 4, in one
sitting, and his callsign was in the database the Wednesday after the test).
Now, with the Postal Service eliminating Saturday delivery, it could take
longer to get the license "in hand".
It reminds me of the joke about where so many people nowadays have
FORGOTTEN the meaning of the word SERVICE...whether it's Postal Service,
Customer Service, Internal Revenue Service, Amateur Radio Service
(especially on 75 meters), etc.
Well, I heard 2 farmers talking the other day...and one told the other
that "he needed to get a bull to service his cows".
BINGO!! The light came on!! (hi hi).
