So nice of them to give you warning. > We had hoped yesterday that we could have eased it today, but today we were told they want us out by the end of the month. Don and I will leave the end of this month, Stuart is trying to wangle another month for himself and Natalie. Don and I are out of work as of March 31. He's got some things he has to do to wind his law business down, so I gave him some suggestions this afternoon. Once he's completed the work he's doing (he will not leave clients in the lurch) he's looking at finishing his accounting courses and getting a CPA and working in accounting instead of law Stuart wants to continue as a sole practitioner, so I gave him some ideas of where he might find office space. He wants to keep Natalie, but she won't stay with just him, it's the whole package she enjoyed. If Don and I are gone, she'll look for work closer to home. I don't know what Stuart with do without her. >> It would be nice if miracle could occur, but if you'd all do the old Bardie >> good thinking thing for me, please, so that some kind of work will come >> along in time for Lisa and I to continue to have a place to live > >Done and done. HUGS!! > My bosses are making sure the severance slip is filled out so that I have the best chance possible of getting unemployment, that is, making sure they give me a good reference, say they'd hire me again if they had the chance, and fillling out the forms that say I was let go because of dissolution of business, not anything I did. That will at least give me 2/3 of my income until I can find something. I want out of Law. I'll look for chimp work that's within walking distance from my home so that I can spend as much time as possible writing, and dealing with the publishers and agents to really push making enough from my writing that I don't ever have to work outside the house again >Lissa Think...Think...Think Wingling Laurie hearing from the publisher would be a good thing right about now Phoenix --- Rachel's Little NET2FIDO Gate v 0.9.9.8 Alpha* Origin: Rachel's Experimental Echo Gate (1:135/907.17) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 135/907 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
