Quoting Larry Smith to Jack Daniels:

You are assuming 100% of the TSEPro users *do upgrade to the latest
version each year.
LS> printing costs of the manuals could not be more than a dollar

Hmmm, I don't see the problem. Semware, like any other business, is out
to make a profit; that's how they stay in business. Semware is a
commercial software developer to the best of my understanding, and that
means overhead costs. (They are not working out of their homes or
garages.) I don't want to debate The cost of Semware's upgrades; my
original message was intended to center around the issue that Semware
should consider including some type of electronic version of their
online help system or manual with their product. This could save $$ for
both Semware and the end user if implemented properly.
LS> I can't believe that SemWare has produced a product without a
LS> manual.
This was hard for me to understand as well, especially for the new user
of TSEPro V2.5. Would a new user receive the V2.0 manuals and then the
supplement for V2.5?
LS> One by one, the shareware products I have come to love are
LS> either disappearing or going retail...PCWrite, Procomm,
LS> SuperBBS, Silver Xpress, Bluewave, MKQWK, ....
LS> QEdit?
I certainly hope not. the shareware concept has exposed me to a lot of
great software I probably wouldn't have ever used, let alone heard of.
TSEJR has been shipping for a while, but as far as I know of, is not
available in a shareware archive yet. I am not a upgrade fiend, if the
old version does what I need, so be it. If an older version of a program
is still floating around, use it. Look at SLMR, the predecessor of OLX
from Mustang Software. People still use it because it does the job for
them. I know of a person that doesn't see a reason to upgrade from
QEdit V2.08. If I recall correctly, that version was only 36K in size or
something like that. Well, my point is simply to say if it works for
you, cooool!
LS> Terra Firma is not so firma as it used to be...CP/M's gone,
LS> MSDOS is going, and I HATE Windows...:(
*Me too!! I hate this GUI revolution!
