Yes, I would agree that your macaw is talking on command. You have also
learned the down side of a talking bird. They talk when they want and not
necessarily when you want. (Watching tv and talking on the phone.) Also the
repetition can drive you crazy. I have five talking birds and when they all
talk at the same time, it gets a little much. A couple of mornings ago my BFA
Kodiak repeated over and over "I'm a good boy." He does that to get
attention. This time I was busy and did not respond. After about the 50th
time, Sidney YNA said in a very sarcastic voice, "Is that so!" I guess it
was getting to him as well. My birds receive part of a sunflower seed as a
reward because Amazons love food more than anything else. Keep working with
your macaw as you have been and before long he will not only be saying "Good
