They don't look to people like the ones on this list to determine what
make= s it popular or not. They look to people like my mom. She bought the
movie= s and considers herself an honest to goodness trekkie...who doesn't
know on= e movie from the next. Baywatch was a popular show that had no
plot, no st= ory yet had young men and women in swimsuits, and it pulled
high ratings. = These are also the same people that made Beavis and
Butthead popular and yo= u wonder why Trek on TV is hitting the
skids?=20=20=20

They're not catering to Trekkies or the Fans. They're catering to people
li= ke my mom...who don't know the difference.

That does appear where the clueless twins (B&B) are
headed. It's obvious they hold nothing but contempt for the
fans. Several comments Berman has made since Nemesis
  have pretty much confirmed that.

You'd think they'd realize that "fans" =3D "viewers" but not=20
  those two.

They won't listen to the fans, they don't know why the ratings have
tanked, they don't see bad box office as an indicator, the fact
Activision wants out of their Trek contracts is just some
incidental occurance, the lack of Trek merchandise at places like
ToysRUs doesn't even appear on their radar screen, Enterprise
wasn't even close to being nominated for best dramatic series,=20
they get continual bad reviews and not just from TV Guide...
By what measure do they gauge their success or failure by?
