I decided to try out msged on my old Commodore PC/5
(monochrome text card!), and noticed two things:
1. Going Alt-L caused me to not be able to see the current
message. Later on I experimented with different colours,
but couldn't find something that I liked.
Does anyone want to experiment to find the ultimate set of
colours that works for both colour and monochrome screens?
It would be nice if it were shipped with that.
2. At the end of the program, the cursor was set back to make
it appear strange. From my reference books, it appears that
what is happening is that the cursor scan lines are being
set to 6-7 which is correct for colour modes, but for monochrome
modes it should be set to 0x0b-0x0c. I then found out that the
doco mentioned a "curstart and curend" keywords, and saw the code
and saw them being set but not used. I changed the code to make
them get used, and that solved that problem! BFN. Paul.
P.S. BTW, this means that I am now a qualified MSDOS beta tester,
at the lowest level in fact (there's nothing lower than a
monochrome text card).
