Portland OR area. The Association of Home Business (AHB) can be

There is also a GREAT home business publication - magazine format
rather than newsletter - published in the Portland area and
expanding throughout the Northwest called Business@Home. Subs are

The home business associations in the Northwest are informally
linked to each other in what is called the Cascadia Network of
Home Business Associations. No structure, no formal point of
contact - just a swapping of newsletters, info, and extension of
member benefits from groups to members of other groups (attending
events at member rates, for example)
As for your venture capital question, any good business
consultant can review your plan. Expect to pay for consultant
time, but shouldn't take long to read and analyze a plan. Call me
