SD> I just remembered something: On RMP, somebody said that Fripp
SD> actually taught Boz to sing and play bass.
D>Well, that would explain the singing, anyhow. It's a good thing
D>Adrian already knew how when he joined.
Still, for a world-class anal retentive like Fripp, I found it difficult to
imagine he wouldn't just go find someone who already knew how to sing and
play bass...it's not an unusual combination.
D>Does anyone remember what Boz and his Crimso cronies called themselves
D>after jumping ship to play backup for... Who the heck was that,
D>Alexis Korner? Long John Baldry? No matter.
I don't remember that one. Pete Frame's Rock Family Trees may have missed
it. He printed the classic commentary on Ian MacDonald, who apparently said
he left KC because they were too commercial, and next surfaced in that Avon
Guard band Foreigner.
And wouldn't having had an entire bass lesson
D>sorta overqualify him for Bad Company?
I dunno. Seems like in a band like that, some competence at bass and/or
drums would be required (if only the ability to keep the same beat for 6 or 7
minutes at a time, which rank amateurs often can't do).
Unless the emphasis was on not
D>falling off the platform shoes whilst plunking the root...
A truly classic 70's image. All that fucking hair in your face, of course,
makes it even harder to stay upright.
