This is the kind of reason you should never trust "confidentiality"
with any "authority." You'll be betrayed. In the US, doctor/patient
confidentiality was just changed so the government has total access;
no legal problem for them at all. So if a patient has ever told them
anything under the promise of confidentiality, that's all totally
accessible now.

Whenever you hear this rubric, you can be sure it really means, "The
rights of the father count for nothing." It's used every day in the
courts. Every day.
