This was in the C_ECHO, not sure why, but thought it might be of interest to
a few here, mention is made of Perl usage, not C or even C++. :-))

Seems there are quite a few FIDO users who pride themselves on
their ability to write and use Perl code. There are also many
FIDO sysops who are connected to the Internet 24/7 to move mail.
The Agora 'bot' could provide a means to file-request not only
for the sysop to sysop transfers but to anyone interested in a
file that exists at any URL accessible via Internet access.
Agora retrieves HTML pages, files, and whatever else is
available on the Internet and sends it as an attachment to the
person making the request. Newer versions of Agora can even
compress this attachment, convert it to UUE, or MIME64.
I thought a _productive_ use of all this talent using Perl and
a 24/7 connection to the Internet would appeal to the chosen
few who value productivity over procrastination?
My website has a 'teaser' for Agora to explain what it is, who
wrote it, how to get the code, and even how to use those Agora
servers that exist and are operational now.

Have we all become spectators in this life?
