Quoting John Bourne to All JB>I am *very* new to C and I need a compiler (obviously) .. JB>I am wondering what is the best compiler for a beginner like me and JB>how much is it gonna cost me .. Well, if you're new it's not very hard to find a book about learning C which contains a cut-down version of Turbo C++. So it'll cost you the price of a good book on learning C, which isn't a bad thing. The only one I've looked at is by Tom Swan, and if you're at all familiar with any other language (I knew Basic, and Z80, 8080 and 8086 assembly languages reasonably well) you should have no trouble learning C from it (I did). ... Of course it's half eaten. You said you wanted the chef's salad. --- FMail/386 1.02* Origin: Power BBS - +61-2-858-4114 - Files/Games/EchoMail/Internet (3:711/953) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 620/243 623/630 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 932 934 SEEN-BY: 711/946 953 961 963 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 711/953 410 808 809 934 |
