enclosing your personal cheque made out in US dollars and asking him to send
a program disk and manual snail mail to your home address. (When I refer to
Snail mail, I do mean airmail, obviously).
If you explain your problem to him, (BBS access speed and charges) he'll no
doubt be sympathetic.
Although I'm English, I live in France, and have something of the same
problems when paying a registration fee to a US shareware company. For
Mealmaster, therefore, I just did exactly as I have just described, and
shortly afterwards my own disc and manual arrived peacefully.
I can't say that this works at all times and in all places, but I was advised
that if you make out a cheque in your own currency, it is the recipient who
pays the charges, if on the other hand, you make out your cheque in the
recipient's currency it is you that pay the charges. Now given the excellent
value for money which MealMaster affords, it doesn't seem to me to be
reasonable to expect Scott to pay charges on the modest price, which is why I
suggest that method. I can't say that I even looked to see what I had paid! I
wanted the program, so I bought it. Why not ask your bank if this works?
